About Me
While studying dance in college, I started taking yoga classes and fell in love with the practice. I have been teaching yoga in Minneapolis since 2000 at community education, dance schools, corporations, and yoga studios as well as private lessons and yoga parties. I enjoy teaching at a variety of places to reach different populations. I also taught at The Emily Program for 6 years to clients in eating disorder treatment. As a trauma informed yoga teacher, I invite my students to get curious about their unique challenges and strengths by offering multiple options in my classes. My intention as a yoga and dance teacher is to invite people to cultivate a stronger and kinder mind-body connection to build greater self-awareness.
My dance career has ranged from more formal venues, to dancing in schools to educate students, and occasionally as a backup dancer for singers. I have performed with Kinetic Evolutions Dance Company, Christopher Watson Dance Company, and One Dance Company. I also taught Hip Hop dance to both kids and adults for many years. I graduated with a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Minnesota.
Since 2008, I have also choreographed dance flash mobs for a variety of organizations including Twin Cities Film Fest, Great Clips, Office Max, Minnesotans United for all families, Food Freedom, Aria at the Jeune Lune, and Crave. I have had the honor of choreographing wedding dances and flash mob proposals as well. I love encouraging those who practice with me to find their own embodiment and empowerment through movement, whether practicing yoga or dancing.
